The blade of a knife can also be engraved during the production process before hardening. The spine of a knife can be engraved with a unique design as well. If you do not yet own the knife which you would like to have engraved, I can assist you with finding one as I work with several knife makers from the Czech Republic and around the world.

ABOUT ME
Why engraving, you might ask? What do I like about it?
Since my childhood I have loved workshops where things are being created. What I like most about engraving is the process.
The process means creative work, new challenges, journeys into the depth of my creativity, and interesting people who I get to meet. There is so much. I just love the whole process of creating that distinctive design or monogram for a customer.
When I “dress” an item in ornamentation with my engraving and with each line, it becomes a one-of-a-kind piece. There is tension of whether the customer will be satisfied, and the excitement and surprise on his face when he picks up his order. It is this whole process that is adventurous, creative, always unknown and fulfilling, and that is the greatest enjoyment and leaves me fulfilled in my work.
FAQ
I would like an engraving
After we connect, we will talk about your ideas and wishes. We will discuss what you like and what appealed to you about my work – what kind of engraving is right for you.
I will also discuss with you:
- The specific item to be engraved
- How large of an area will be engraved?
- What material is the object made of?
- When does the engraving need to be completed?
- Estimated Budget
After this conversation, I will have an idea of what I will create and what the scope of my work will be. I’ll give you a rough estimate of the cost and time needed.
After we have agreed on the time and price estimate, I will bill you for my design work. The amount will be determined in advance based on the scope of the work. If you have me complete the work, this amount will be deducted from the final bill.
After I have received payment for the agreed amount, I start designing and drawing. I will send you the finished design for your comments and approval. After we have agreed on the proposal, I set about the execution of the design.
During execution, I can send you videos or photos of the work process.
When the work is finished, you will pay the rest of the agreed-upon price, and I will hand over the work. The agreed-upon cost can be paid in installments during the work. Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer.
All photos and videos of my work are owned by me and are used for my promotional materials (see detailed information – Copyright / Legal section / Terms and conditions).
I would be very happy if you would write a review for me. With your consent, I will publish it on my website or on social networks.
If you have not found the answer to any of your questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to answer all of your questions.
How much does an engraving cost?
The price of an engraving is determined according to the scope and complexity of the work. Prices start at €200.
- So that you can better understand my prices, I will try to explain all the factors that influence how I set them.
- Sometimes a project is a simple, small engraving; sometimes I work on large areas. A ring is one type of project, a pendant is another. One job might be on a watch and another on a motorcycle.
- Sometimes the material to be engraved is soft and sometimes it is very hard – that is, the job takes more time, more grinding with the engravers, etc.
- Sometimes an engraving is just on the surface and other times more material is removed for greater effect.
We will agree on a specific price calculation according to the scope of work, material and object I will engrave for you.
Engraving as a gift
Would you like a unique present for someone close to you? Do you need a distinctive gift for an important business partner? Or perhaps you would like to make yourself happy, but you’re not sure what you should choose. Text me or call me. I’ll be happy to help.
Thanks to my collaboration with craftsmen (knife makers, goldsmiths and watchmakers) from the Czech Republic as well as other countries, we will find the perfect gift which I will then decorate with an engraving.
I also offer gift certificates for engraving in different values.
Technical spotlight
Sometimes I am asked the question “Is pneumatic engraving really hand engraving?” Let’s answer that question.
My engravings are made only by my hands. I use both classic engravers, which I learned to work with while studying this field, as well as a pneumatic engraver. A pneumatic engraver is a classic hand engraver that is connected to air. I still guide the engraver with my hand, but I don’t need to apply as much force, because the air supplied to the engraver pushes a piston which impacts the material being engraved. It’s especially great when working with very hard material.
The engraving made in this way has still been created by the action of my hand and is not machine-made, as sometimes erroneously believed.
